Advancing CXL with Interoperable Solutions

Ahmed Medhioub, Product Manager

In AI and cloud infrastructure, seamless connectivity and scalable memory expansion solutions are key to unlocking performance at scale. As AI workloads grow more demanding, the need for robust, standards-based and interoperable solutions is greater than ever. The CXL Consortium Compliance Program was established to validate end-products against the CXL Specification, ensuring they meet the highest standards for functionality and interoperability.

In its most recent compliance workshop, the CXL Consortium added official CXL 2.0 testing. We’re proud to share that our Leo CXL® Smart Memory Controllers and Leo A1000 Add-in Cards successfully passed the rigorous CXL 2.0 tests and are featured on the CXL Consortium Integrators List. Previously recognized for meeting CXL 1.1 compliance, Leo continues to be a trusted solution in the evolving CXL ecosystem.

Leo CXL® Smart Memory Controllers and Leo A1000 Add-in Cards have successfully passed the latest CXL 2.0 compliance testing and are now listed on the CXL Consortium Integrators List. Previously recognized for meeting CXL 1.1 compliance, Leo continues to be a trusted solution in the evolving CXL ecosystem.

Why Compliance and Interop Testing Matter

The growing complexity of AI infrastructure demands interoperable components designed by a diverse ecosystem to ensure seamless integration and scalability.

In addition to passing compliance testing outlined by the CXL Consortium, Leo has also undergone rigorous interop testing with industry-leading hosts, RDIMMs, and operating systems in the Astera Labs Cloud-Scale Interop Lab.

This extensive testing also extends to our COSMOS software suite that enables comprehensive Link, Fleet and RAS telemetry and diagnostics capabilities.

We take this extra step so our hyperscaler and AI platform provider customers can:

  • Minimize system interoperation risk with solutions tested for plug-and-play interoperability.
  • Reduce system development costs through supply chain diversity.
  • Accelerate time-to-market by leveraging interoperable solutions that streamline integration and deployment.

With proven interoperability, Leo is ready to enable robust, real-world CXL deployments as the ecosystem ramps this year.
